Who would have thought that a humble lady from Scotland that nobody had heard of less than a year ago, would end up beating the superstars take that for pre-ordered CDs!
Yesterday Amazon the Internet mail order giant announced that pre-ordered copies of Susan Boyles soon to be released (23/11/09) CD I Dreamed a Dream
It’s easy to forget that Susan first appeared on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ as recently as April 2009, singing the song ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Misérables. This unassuming lady walked onto the stage and just about everybody expected her to fall short in her audition.
Then Susan started singing and it was like the world stopped! A voice that can only be dreamed of took over the moment. I remember the looks on the judge’s faces, they simply couldn’t believe what they were hearing and neither could the millions of people who were later to watch the audition.
In such a short period of time Susan has risen to such meteoric success both in the UK and globally. It’s a heart rending story in more ways than one. Susan’s is a private lady with a massive talent. Whenever she sings it gives me the goose bumps!
It’s a testament to a show like ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ that uncover undeniably unexpected gems like Susan Boyle who would never have come to light if these shows didn’t exist.
