My Review Of The Apple itouch 32GB Mp3 MP4 Media Player

I had heard quite a few people raving about the itouch so when I saw that a new one had been released by Apple, in early September 2010, I decided to do an itouch review in order to learn more about it. It will be good to impress my sons with the information I discover about the complete overhaul of the previous model to produce the new itouch, full name Apple iPod touch 32 GB (Fourth generation) which is the newest model.
How Much Capacity?
The new i touch is available in three different capacities 8GB, 32GB or 64GB. I have chosen to review the itouch 32GB because there is quite a hike in price, half as much again, between the 32GB and the 64GB models. On the other hand with the itouch 32GB you are getting four times the capacity of the 8GB model for only about 22% more in price.
The itouch 32 GB, having a 15% bigger battery than previous models, is able to store about 8,000 songs, and 40,000 photos or 40 hours of video. On a single charge of the battery it can playback up to 40 hours of audio playback or 7 hours of video playback.
The ‘Big’ Small Screen!
The screen is 3.5inches diagonally, is Retina Display and has 960-by-640-pixel resolution (326 pixels per inch). This improves the sharpness of the text for easier reading and greater clarity of images and graphics for playing games or for relaxing high definition movie viewing. Viewed from a distance of about 12 inches the individual pixels cannot be seen. The new itouch has the highest-resolution screen on any mobile device. I’ll say more about gaming later in this itouch review.
What Can You Do With The New itouch?
- The i touch is an excellent media playing device and that is what it was designed to do best. It is an absolute bonus that it now includes two cameras as well.
- From the camera at the back you can shoot videos, whilst the camera at the front can be used to take self-portraits or for Facetime calls. Either camera can be used for taking still photographs.
- Facetime calls are an alternative to sending emails or making phone calls and all you need is your Apple ID and your email address to be able to connect with a friend on their i touch or iphone, and to be able to see them whilst you talk with them.
- Its specifications, support for AAC and protected AAC (iTunes Store), mean that it provides a greater compression of digital audio and generally achieves better sound quality.
- With the powerful Apple A4 Processor the new itouch can carry out complex things such as video editing and multitasking.
- Running your fingertips across and tapping the multi-touch screen enables you to select the function you want from your itouch.
- Surf the internet with the Safari browser.
- You can play games with your friends connecting with them on their i touch or iphone and keep a leader board of each others’ scores and achievements. State-of-the-art fun.
- Enjoy listening to your music albums and if you synchronize your itouch to iTunes, ‘Genius’ will create multiple mixes. Because the new itouch supports Bluetooth technology you can use stereo headphones with it.
Looks are important too…
Without a doubt the new itouch is attractive. At 4.4 x 2.3 inches and only 0.3 inches deep it is the thinnest itouch and weighing 101gms is also the lightest. It has an engineered glass front and a stainless steel back so it both looks and feels good.

Any complaints?
There were a few issues that people commented on but overall people said that they felt that they were comparatively minor when considered alongside attributes of the itouch. For example some people mentioned that it would be a good idea to buy a protective case or sock.
