Last night viewers saw Lucy Benjamin be the first celebrity contestant to be evicted from the jungle. She received the lowest votes between herself Gino D’ACampo and Sam Fox.
It was disappointing that the first eviction came down to being between these three, it’s a shame that the vote wasn’t between the whole camp as it doesn’t really give a true reflection of popularity.
Lucy was very magnanimous about her leaving; it would however have been nice to see more of her particularly in things like trials if they had not been taken over by Miss Price.
I did feel quite sorry for Lucy in the interview with Ant and Dec. She was given two or 3 minutes at the end for her interview and was cut off to finish the show on time. Katie Price on the other hand had been given an extended interview in the middle of the show.
It shows the importance that ITV puts on Katie above the other contestants even though she was a quitter and Lucy actually played the game properly to the end but wasn’t rewarded or treat respectfully at the end.
The ITV2 show ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here now’, did pretty much the same there was no sign of Lucy Benjamin, however Katie Price was given further publicity.
It’s intriguing now to see and get to know more about the other contestants rather than it being all about one person. There are plenty of big characters in there who I hope have time to show the public their personal side.
