Sir Terry hardly looks like he should be in a marathon bless him but that is exactly what he was in last night on the start studded BCC 1 Children in Need extravaganza. The show lasted some 7 hours from start to finish.
Terry and Tess Daly (Vernon Kays Mrs!) were joined on stage by a whole host of stars, including Alesha Dixon, who helped with the presenting as well as performing two songs.
The ever popular Peter Andre was also presenting and performing along with the likes of JLS, Spandau Ballet, Annie Lenox, Justin Lee Collins, Dr Who, Dragons Den, The BBC News Crew (always a fun to watch act), Eastenders, Hollyoaks, Casualty and many many more.
On Thursday evening BBC2 aired a concert that starred Take That, Robbie Williams (love his new song), Sir Paul McCartney and many other performers which raised in excess of two million by itself.
The star moment of the night though has to go to the hugely talented Peter Kay who thought up the plot for the official Children in Need Charity song for 2009. It features just about every children’s characters new and old that you could think of, performing to a medley of well known hits. The characters include, Engey Bengy, Fireman Sam, Postman Pat, Bob the Builder, Fifi, Spongebob, Bagpuss, Sooty and Sweep, The Fat Controller and so many others.
The album cover is done in the style of ‘The Beatles’ ‘Sergeant Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band’ and is truly inspirational. It should be available from 23/11/09. You can get it here we don’t make anything from this at all. Get the CD.
